Higher Education Act Compliance

The Office of HEA Compliance oversees Illinois Institute of Technology’s compliance with Title IV financial assistance programs and manages employee access to the United States Department of Education’s federal student aid systems. The Office of HEA Compliance communicates regularly with key stakeholders across the university about a range of internal and external compliance issues ranging from reporting and disclosure deadlines to discussing internal processing concerns.

In collaboration with campus partners, the Office of HEA Compliance monitors the following compliance requirements:
Compliance Requirement
Net Price Calculator Institutions must make a net price calculator available on their websites in accordance with a template provided by the U.S. Department of Education
Accreditation, Approval, and Licensure Institutions must publish accreditation, approval procedures, and licensure for obtaining accreditation and provide it to enrolled and prospective students
Annual Financial Aid Consumer Disclosure Institutions must distribute annually to students a variety of required disclosures about financial aid and the institution
Student Complaint Contact Information Institutions must publish on their website contact information for the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and the State of Illinois for students to file a complaint
Constitution/Citizenship Day Institutions must hold an educational program about the U.S. Constitution for its students
Voter Registration Information Institutions must make available voter registration information and forms to enrolled students prior to voting
Copyright Infringement or Peer-to-Peer File Sharing Policy and Sanctions Institutions must publish and make available to enrolled and prospective students its plans to effectively combat the unauthorized distribution of copyrighted material and will, to the extent practicable, offer alternatives to illegal downloading describing copyright law and campus policies related to copyright infringement, including penalties and liabilities for unauthorized peer-to-peer file sharing
Types of Graduate/Professional Education in which Illinois Tech graduates Institutions must publish and make available to enrolled and prospective students information on placement in employment and types of employment obtained by graduates of the institution's degree and certificate programs. The disclosure must include the most recent available data concerning employment and graduation statistics, relevant state licensing requirements, source of data, and methodology used
Textbook Disclosures Institutions must publish on the institution's online course schedule used for registration and preregistration the ISBN and retail price information of required and recommended textbooks and supplemental materials for each course. If the ISBN Is not available, the institution must provide the author, title, publisher, and copyright information for the material. Institutions must include on any written course schedule that textbook information is available on the online course schedule
Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Disclosure Notification Institutions must provide all enrolled students information on student rights regarding access to educational records and rights surrounding disclosure of personally identifiable information of school records
Transfer Credit Policy Institutions must publish and make available to enrolled and prospective students a statement on the transfer of credit that includes any established criteria the institution uses regarding the transfer of credit earned at another institution, and a list of institutions with which it has established an articulation agreement
Teen patti game today Institutions must publish and make available to enrolled and prospective students information about the academic programs, current degree programs, instructional, laboratory, and other physical plant facilities related to the academic program
Institutional Refund Policy Institutions must publish information about the institution's refund policy to enrolled and prospective students
University Withdrawal Process Institutions must publish and make available to enrolled and prospective students the requirements and procedures for official withdrawal
Sexual Harassment Prevention Policy Institutions must annually distribute the institution’s statement prohibiting sexual harassment in its educational program and activity as required by the Illinois Human Rights Act
Vaccinations Policy Institutions must publish and make available to enrolled and prospective students information on the institution's policies on vaccinations
Student Body Diversity by Gender and Race for Pell Grant Recipients Institutions must publish and make available to enrolled and prospective students information on Pell Grant recipients by gender and race
Completion Graduation and Transfer Out Rates Institutions must publish and make available to enrolled and prospective students the completion and graduation rate of both certificate students and full-time undergraduate degree-seeking students. The data should be disaggregated by gender, race, and ethnicity; Federal Pell Grant recipients; and Federal Subsidized Direct Loan recipients who are not Federal Pell Grant recipients.
Retention Rate Report Institutions must publish and make available to enrolled and prospective students the retention rate of certificate and degree-seeking, first-time undergraduate students
Equity and Athletics Disclosure Reports (EADA) Institutions must annually submit a report to EADA report on their athletic program
IPEDS Report Institutions must annually submit institutional data such as average tuition, fees, room and board, books, supplies, and transportation, the net price of the institution, and the average annual cost of tuition and fees, etc. to National Center for Educational Statistics
College Navigator Institutions must create a link on their website to the College Navigator website that uses IPEDS data
Missing Persons Institutions must annually provide students in on-campus housing the option to provide to the institution a confidential contact in the event they are missing for more than 24 hours
Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Program Institutions must annually publish material and information about the risks, penalties, and treatment options associated with drug and alcohol abuse, on drug and alcohol abuse prevention efforts, and the institution's  policy on creating a drug-free workplace
Diversity Statement Institutions must publish and make available to enrolled and prospective students a statement that it prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin in its educational programs and activities
Veteran Benefits Institutions are required to process veteran benefits for admitted veteran students who demonstrate eligibility for one of the following: Montgomery GI Bill Active Duty or Selected Reserve;  Montgomery GI Bill Active Duty Chapter 30;  Montgomery GI Bill Selected Reserve Chapter 1606; Post-911 Yellow Ribbon; Transfer of Post 9-11 GI Bill Benefits to Dependents; Reserve Educational Assistance Program (REAP); Survivors of Dependents Assistance (DEA); Veterans Educational Assistance Program (VEAP); and Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment
Cybersecurity/Information Security Requirements Institutions must publish and make available to enrolled and prospective students their comprehensive security program to safeguard the information of students and parents
Job Placement Rates If an institution uses job placement rates in their marketing material, they must publish and make available to enrolled and prospective students disclosures about job placement rates. They must provide and certify the data is the most recent available
Campus Security Report Institutions must publish an annual security report and distribute the report to its students and employees by October 1 of each year.
